“Mercy” by Elevation Worship
A young lady named Denise goes to a dancing school and is very spoiled. Her parents allow her to have anything she desires. Denise is not the type of teen who loves anyone but herself and practically worships dancing more than her family. Denise is a very dramatic, rude, and selfish young lady who is in love with all her dance practices and never pays attention to others around her, not even her own sibling. Her sibling has a disability and requires adult supervision.
On her way back home from dance practice she was walking with her brother and notices a car passing by. She hangs up the phone and notices her little brother was struck by a vehicle. She began screaming for help as others stood by watching helpless. Finally the EMTs arrive on the scene and her parents who she called.
She shows up at the hospital still trying to defend herself and her parents tell her how much she is in love with herself including her dancing. Denise storms off in a rage and calls her friend, giving her all the details. She visits her friend Liz and her friend asks does she want to get high. Denise agrees to hang out and get high with her friend but notices how unhappy she is.
In the story a young lady realizes she has a problem with herself and how she’s in love with her dancing over worshipping God who her family believed in. She never paid any attention to her brother’s disabilities or notice how her parents struggled trying provide for them. In the end result, Denise suffered with adding on to her problems and created a gods. Why did Denise worship herself and dancing more than the Creator?
