Justice Arts Coalition Receives Support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts

The Justice Arts Coalition (JAC) is honored to announce that we have received a grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts in support of Prison Reimagined: Independence 250 (PRP250), a powerful continuation of the Prison Reimagined: Presidential Portrait Project (PRP3) that uplifts the creative voices of artists impacted by incarceration.

This support from the Warhol Foundation strengthens our mission to illuminate how presidential power has shaped—and continues to shape—incarceration in America. Prison Reimagined: Independence 250 challenges the legacy of political decisions that have fueled mass imprisonment and state violence, inviting the public to reflect on accountability, freedom, and leadership. At a time when the lines between justice and punishment are increasingly blurred, this work reminds us that art has the power to confront history and reimagine our collective future.

We are deeply grateful to the Andy Warhol Foundation for recognizing the transformative power of art in reimagining justice and for investing in the leadership of those most directly impacted by the carceral system.

If you or your organization would like to bring the Prison Reimagined: Independence 250 exhibition to your community, we’d love to partner with you. Please reach out to us at info@thejusticeartscoalition.org
